L'Etrog Acqua
L'Etrog Acqua by Arquiste is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with citron, mandarin, lemon, petitgrain and bergamot, moves into aromatic accord, cardamom, jasmine and lavender and dries down to iris, patchouli, labdanum, vetiver and cedarwood. Expect around 8 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.

Opening
- Citron Thick-skinned citrus, more zest than juice. Waxy and bright.
- Mandarin Soft, sweet, almost powdery citrus. Gentler than orange.
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Petitgrain Bitter twigs and leaves of the orange tree. Dry and a little green.
- Bergamot Sharp citrus with a faint bitter edge. The opening of about half of all men's fragrances.
Heart
- Aromatic Accord Herbal freshness in the lavender and rosemary mould, blended into one impression.
- Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Lavender Herbal, clean, slightly medicinal. Barbershop in one note.
Dry-down
- Iris Cool, powdery, slightly carroty and expensive. The luxury note.
- Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
- Labdanum Sticky, leathery resin. Dark honey and old books.
- Vetiver Dry, earthy, smoky grass root. Smells like soil and citrus peel.
- Cedarwood Dry, pencil-shaving woodiness. Clean and structural.
