Lightsource
Lightsource by Andrea Maack is an unisex eau de parfum in the niche price tier. It opens with lemon and fig, moves into petitgrain, jasmine and rose and dries down to pink pepper and black pepper. Expect around 8 hours of wear, and it projects at a moderate level.
Notes, explained
Opening
- Lemon Clean, sour, instantly recognisable. Bright but burns off fast.
- Fig Green, milky and jammy at once. One of the most interesting fruits in perfume.
Heart
- Petitgrain Bitter twigs and leaves of the orange tree. Dry and a little green.
- Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
- Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
Dry-down
- Pink Pepper Fizzy, rosy and bright. Adds sparkle without heat.
- Black Pepper Dry and prickly. Gives a fragrance grip and a bit of bite.
