Sunshine Woman

Sunshine Woman by Amouage is a feminine-leaning eau de parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with blackcurrant, almond and davana, moves into osmanthus, jasmine, vanilla and magnolia and dries down to birch tar, patchouli, tobacco and papyrus. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.

Opening

Blackcurrant Tart, dark and slightly catty. Adds bite to florals.
Almond Marzipan and cherry-stone. Sweet with a bitter undertone.
Davana Odd and gorgeous — apricot jam, rum and dried herbs at once.

Heart

Osmanthus Apricot-and-leather floral. Unusual, warm and very wearable.
Jasmine Heady, sweet and slightly animal underneath. Rarely subtle.
Vanilla Sweet, creamy and warm. The most comforting note in perfumery.
Magnolia Lemony white floral. Bright and clean rather than heavy.

Dry-down

Birch Tar Smoked, tarry and campfire-like. The classic way to build leather.
Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
Tobacco Sweet, dried and honeyed. Nothing like a cigarette.
Papyrus Dry, smoky, papery wood. Vetiver's quieter cousin.
