Enclave

Enclave by Amouage is an unisex eau de parfum in the luxury price tier. It opens with cardamom, spearmint, pink pepper and cinnamon, moves into rose, patchouli, frankincense and vetiver and dries down to leather, ambroxan and labdanum. Expect around 10 hours of wear, and it projects strongly.

Opening

Cardamom Cool, aromatic spice with a eucalyptus lift. Smells expensive.
Spearmint Softer, sweeter mint. Less medicinal than peppermint.
Pink Pepper Fizzy, rosy and bright. Adds sparkle without heat.
Cinnamon Sweet heat. Reads festive, sometimes to a fault.

Heart

Rose Can be jammy, green, peppery or soapy depending on the type. Not one smell.
Patchouli Damp earth and dark chocolate. Either you love it or it's your least favourite note.
Frankincense Bright, peppery, church-like resin. Lifts and cools a fragrance.
Vetiver Dry, earthy, smoky grass root. Smells like soil and citrus peel.

Dry-down

Leather Smoky, dry and a bit animal. Can be a new jacket or an old saddle.
Ambroxan Clean, mineral, skin-like warmth. The engine behind most modern 'beast mode' scents.
Labdanum Sticky, leathery resin. Dark honey and old books.
